You need to zip the file before you put it into the mods folder. Just using the .jar file will cause cause Minecraft to crash on start up.
      Hope this helps!

UN-zip. You need to UN-zip. Meaning you need to open the file (by double clicking it), then just click and drag the stuff inside to basically anywhere else. The stuff you dragged out is the stuff you want. Just pretend the file is a folder like any other, except that you can’t use the stuff inside while its in the folder. Because, for all intensive purposes, that’s what it is.
