They each have special drops that allow you to create armor that gives you special abilities like underwater breathing, flame resistance, and speed. You can also create penguin hats in the likeness of each of the penguin species. And the penguin armor acts as camouflage so wild penguins will be more comfortable around you when you approach.

Features:

List of Penguins

Emperor Penguins

  • Wild Behavior: When untamed, Emperor Penguins will act like any other mob. They will only spawn in snowy biomes. When attacked, all wild penguins around them will get mad and attack you back. Their call lengths vary based on how healthy they are.
  • Taming: When right-clicking any Emperor Penguin with a fish (raw fish, raw salmon, clownfish, or pufferfish), there is a 1/3 chance it will become tame, even if it is angry. Tame penguins will wear red bow ties. You can shear a tamed Emperor Penguin by right-clicking on it with shears. There is a 66% chance for it to drop 0-2 black or white Penguin Feathers, but a 33% chance that it will become angry and attack. However, other penguins you’ve tamed will not attack when one penguin is angry because you attempted to shear it. When a penguin is angry, it is possible to re-tame it with more fish. Attempting to shear a wild penguin will only make it angry. Note that tame penguins can be bred with wheat.

Little Blue Penguins

  • Wild behavior: In the wild Little Blue Penguins behave like other mobs. They only spawn on islands or coasts. When attacked, all other Little Blues around will get mad and attack you, but they only do a small amount of damage. Their call lengths vary based on their health.
  • Taming: When right-clicking any Little Blue Penguin with a raw fish, there is a 1/3 chance it will be tamed, even if it is angry. Tamed penguins wear red bow ties. You can shear a tamed Little Blue Penguin by right-clicking it with shears in your hand. There is a 66% chance it will drop blue or white Penguin Feathers, but a 33% chance it will become angry and attack; however, other penguins will not attack you in this situation. Note that tame penguins can be bred with wheat.

Flame Penguins

  • Wild Behavior: Flame Penguins spawn in the Nether and are immune to lava or fire damage. They are slightly larger than Emperor Penguins. They are normally hostile and attack zombie pigmen as well as you. Their call lengths vary based on their health.
  • Penguin Disguise and Magma Fish: If you put on a full suit of penguin armor of any type before approaching a Flame Penguin, it will be neutral towards you. You can tell whether it is neutral or hostile by the color of its eyes; black is neutral, white is hostile. If you shear one while it is neutral, it will drop 0-2 Flame Penguin Scales, but it will also become angry. A neutral Flame Penguin will also become hostile if you hit it. If you try to put on a penguin disguise while nearby Flame Penguins are hostile, they will continue to attack you. If you are wearing a disguise but they are still angry, you can right-click it with Magma Fish until they are pacified, making them shear-able. A Flame Penguin emits smoke when you succeed in pacifying it.
