AntiSteve Mod for Minecraft 1.4.2

Minecraft Multiplayer has always been a little bit buggy! But never has it had such an effect that independent mod makers have had to step in and change things for the community and for themselves! Minecraft 1.3 is a perfect example of this- as an update that was implemented changed the way (only slightly) that online represented itself! For those that don’t player Multiplayer, Skins are a way to show off to your friends and flaunt your character to others!

Now the problem is that since the start of Minecraft 1.3.1, Mojang changed the front-end server which the skins are hosted, and their new server can not handle the hosting! This mod simply reverses the URL from the newly updated (and broken one) to the old URL for more reliability when choosing your skin! It bypasses the New Minecraft server and instead uses the old Amazon one! The installation of this mod significantly increases the chances of getting the skin that you want, when you want! Tobias Mollstam, who is part of the Mojang team is currently trying to work a fix, this is simply a temporary fix!

How to Install Anti-Steve Mod for Minecraft 1.4.2

  1. First of all, back-up and begin with a fresh Minecraft.jar!
  2. Secondly, Open your Minecraft.jar.
  3. Make the require changes to your META-INF (delete it)
  4. Then drop “aux(1).class” into your jar. Then while you’re still in the jar, delete the original “aux.class” from the jar, and rename “aux(1).class” to “aux.class” within the jar.
  5. Now you should have increased the success rate of avoiding that pesky Steve skin! You should consistently have better luck when trying to change skin!
