The Pixelmon Mod for Minecraft 1.4.5 is one of the most viewed mods in minecraftforums in which the reason is just very clear. Installation:

Client

• Install Minecraft Forge (as per forges instructions) in the minecraft.jar
• Extract Pixelmon.zip into .minecraft folder
• Done!

Note: If upgrading from previous version of pixelmon, please delete the pixelmon.cfg in your .minecraft/config folder. If you do not, none of the new Pokemon will spawn!

Server

• Install Minecraft Forge (as per instructed) in the minecraft_server.jar
• Extract Pixelmon.zip into server folder
• Done!
