Traps, traps and more traps! This stunning mod by Stewiecraft is just so amazing! I absolutely love it! As the name implies it’s all about making devious traps to get them annoying mobs! It adds an array of items that do things like, lure targets, push them, suck there items into a chest, make them fall onto spikes and more! A perfect mod for making some of those crazy Mob farms people are always making. I’ll run through all of the things this mod adds.
Dummy:
Put two wooden planks and a Dummy head on top of each other and it will lure mobs in then attack it instead of you! To craft the Dummy head:
Note that it will not attract zombies. They aren’t fooled by it as they can tell human flesh from plain wood!
Igniter:
A simple but very handy block that will be set on fire when activated with a redstone signal!
Bear Trap
This ones pretty cool! It does exactly what you think a Bear Trap should do! When it’s triggered by any mod it will snap together, hold the mob in place and keep causing damage to them!
Spikes
Deals damage to any mob that comes in contact. Works kind of like cacti except items will not be destroyed upon contact.
Grass Covering
My overall favourite part of this mod! The grass covering is a thin layer of grass (that will also blend with the grass colour of the biome) that will break when walked on. Perfect for disguising pit falls! Works great in unison with the spikes!
Fan:
This will push mobs away from it. Useful to force mobs to fall into your traps!
Magnetic Chest:
This neat little guy will suck any items toward it and place it inside of it! Designed for automatically picking up mobs loot, and it works great too!
I know a lot of you will be thinking… “This mod will be great on a server! I can’t wait to lue my friends into devious traps!”. Well sorry, not just yet. TrapCraft does not currently have SMP support but never fear! Stewiecraft said himself that he will of course eventually add SMP support!
So, that’s the mod and I absolutely love it! I’m sure everyone else will too as it’s a great addition to the Vanilla minecraft experience.
How to Install TrapCraft Mod for Minecraft 1.2.5
- Download and install Modloader.
- Download TrapCraft.
- Place the .Zip in your minecraft mods folder.
- Run minecraft and enjoy!
