JourneyMap is a client mod which maps your Minecraft world in real-time as you explore. You can view the map in-game or in a web browser. It works in single-player and multi-player worlds, including MultiVerse-enabled servers. (No server-side mod is needed.) You get a daylight map, a moonlight map, cave maps by vertical slice, Nether maps, and End maps. You can see nearby monsters and other players. You can also save a copy of any map as a PNG file.
Installation:
Install ModLoader
If you don’t have the updated ModLoader installed yet, now is the time to do so. Follow the instructions on the ModLoader page, or…
Tip: If you are new to installing mods in Minecraft, (or don’t like editing the minecraft.jar), I highly recommend you use MCPatcher to install ModLoader. MCPatcher also enables you to use high-resolution texture packs like Misa’s Realistic Texture Pack.
Find your mods folder
If you haven’t run Minecraft yet since installing ModLoader, the ‘mods’ folder won’t exist yet. You can either manually create it now, or run Minecraft and have ModLoader create it for you.
- If you use Windows:
%appdata%.minecraftmods
- If you use a Mac:
/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods
- If you use Linux:
/home/$ user/.minecraft/mods
Drop in JourneyMap*.zip
(If you are upgrading JourneyMap: Remove the older JourneyMap*.zip from your mods folder.)
Place the new JourneyMap*.zip into your mods folder. Done!
